The niece of a Kenyan girl allegedly murdered by a British soldier has met with the UK’s Defence Secretary to combat for the accused man’s extradition.
Esther Njoki, 21, was eight-years-old when her aunt Agnes Wanjiru, 21, was discovered lifeless in 2012.
Her physique was found in a resort septic tank near a British Military base in Nanyuki, Kenya, two months after her disappearance.
Kenyan prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for the British soldier accused of the homicide. He has been dwelling freely within the UK since.
As we speak, Esther, who’s the household’s spokesperson, held a gathering with Defence Secretary John Healey to make the case for him to be extradited to Kenya.

She mentioned: “My reason for my visit is to keep on putting pressure on. Extradition must be done, the family want him extradited to Kenya.
“He shouldn’t be excused for any cause simply because he had a military uniform.”
Ms Njoki added: “I’m additionally right here as a result of I would like change, change should start with us.

“It doesn’t matter where I come from. I come from the same background Agnes came from. I know they took advantage because my family was not able.

Mr Healey, who beforehand met Ms Njoki in April 2025 throughout a go to to Kenya, paid tribute to Esther and mentioned the federal government would assist the Kenyan investigation.
