Pewamo-Westphalia's Steve Eklund earns profession win No. 300

WESTPHALIA, Mich. (WLNS) – The Pewamo-Westphalia ladies basketball workforce are the one workforce within the mid-Michigan space to take an undefeated file into the postseason.

The Pirates went 22-0 within the common season and have become postseason play with a 78-16 win over Delton Kellogg on Wednesday.

The victory not solely superior P-W to the district championship recreation, but in addition gave head coach Steven Eklund profession win No. 300.

Eklund is in his sixteenth season main the women basketball program at Pewamo-Westphalia and has been grateful for yearly he is been head coach.

“When I started coaching here 16 years ago, I had two boys that were under the age of six. Adrianna, she wasn’t even around yet. So, to think that we’re this far along, the boys where they’re at and what they’re doing, she’s playing for us,” Eklund mentioned. “It’s been a long road, but it’s been a long and rewarding road. So, I don’t have any regrets, I love every day of it.”

The Pirates will tackle Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian within the district title recreation on Friday evening.
