GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A pipe burst on the Grand Rapids Public Museum early Thursday morning, inflicting some flooding earlier than it was contained, the museum says.
Facility repairs will likely be “manageable,” the museum stated, crediting the fast response from workforce members.
“A small number of artifacts sustained water damage, but none beyond repair,” a launch from GRPM stated. “The damaged artifacts are now under the care of our amazing Collections team who will work to dry, conserve, and restore them.”
Components of “The Streets of Old Grand Rapids” — an exhibit that provides guests the prospect to step into Grand Rapids within the Nineties, that includes storefronts based mostly on actual companies — have been affected, together with the grocery retailer and streetcar, based on the discharge.
