Police investigating homicide of paedophile Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins make additional arrests

Two extra males have been arrested over the loss of life of paedophile Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins.

Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year jail time period for a number of sexual offences, together with severe crimes towards younger kids and infants at HMP Wakefield, in West Yorkshire.

He was attacked in jail with a knife earlier this month, sources confirmed.

The 2 males, aged 23 and 39, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to homicide and are in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle of the Murder and Main Enquiry Group stated: “Intensive enquiries stay ongoing in relation to the homicide of Ian Watkins and these arrests type a part of that.

“Ian Watkins’ family are being updated as the investigation progresses. However, we do not anticipate any immediate developments at this stage.”

Final week, Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43, had been charged with homicide in relation to the incident.

No bail purposes had been made at Leeds Crown Courtroom, and each males had been remanded in custody till their subsequent look for a plea and trial preparation listening to on 12 November.

Watkins was jailed for 29 years in December 2013 with an extra six years on licence after admitting a string of intercourse offences.
