LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — There can be a deliberate energy outage Saturday night time till Sunday morning for Portland Board of Mild and Energy clients, town introduced on social media. An alert was additionally despatched out by the Ionia County alert system.
Energy can be shut off Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 p.m. and is not scheduled to return till Sunday, Nov. 2 at 8 a.m.
The outage will help ongoing work for the brand new Grant Road Substation, which is scheduled to go surfing within the spring. The supposed lifetime of a substation — a facility that transforms and distributes energy — is between 25 to 40 years, although the common age of 1 within the U.S. is far older. At present, Portland receives its energy from a single substation that’s 50 years previous.
“This important project will strengthen our electric system and prepare future growth,” the social media publish reads.
The full value of the mission is $3.23 million and is supported by a $3.47 million bond.
