Prepare flattens truck deserted on tracks in Ionia County

Prepare flattens truck deserted on tracks in Ionia County

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A Ford F-150 was smashed by a practice after a drunk driver left his truck on the tracks, police say.

Officers say on Oct. 23, an unoccupied truck was parked on the railroad tracks close to Jackson Highway and West Bippley Highway round 10:35 p.m.

Deputies say the truck was caught on the tracks about half a mile from the closest roadway. The motive force left the truck on the tracks as a practice approached. The practice was unable to cease however the driver escaped in sufficient time.

Police say the driving force admitted to having been driving and was intoxicated on the time of the crash.

Michigan State Police say the crash continues to be beneath investigation.
