Pupil support sweepstakes now open in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has a plan to extend the variety of college students filling out the free software for Federal pupil support, generally often known as FAFSA. Proper now, that quantity hovers round 50% of scholars statewide.

A statewide sweepstakes goals to incentivize submissions by awarding 40 $10,000 prizes and ten $50,000 prizes to new candidates.

“It’s really important that young people understand what’s available with the FAFSA,” Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer mentioned. “They’ve all heard about it one way or another, but maybe don’t understand how much opportunity that just filling it out kind of unlock and that’s why it’s important to be here with the students who are saying why they did it, where they want to be headed, knocking $27,500 off of a four-year degree is an amazing opportunity.”

Beverly Walker-Griffea, the manager director of MiLEAP, says the sweepstakes will encourage extra college students to make the most of a program that removes obstacles to so many potential paths of success.

With the growing prices of excessive schooling nationwide, this $1 million sweepstakes will assist get the phrase out {that a} diploma is probably not as out of attain because it as soon as appeared.
