Vladimir Putin has visited Kursk for the primary time since his troops ejected Ukrainian forces from the Russian metropolis.

The Russian president met with volunteer organisations and visited a nuclear energy plant within the area yesterday, the Kremlin mentioned on Wednesday.

Mr Putin mentioned late final month that his forces had ejected Ukrainian troops from the Kursk area, which ended the biggest incursion into Russian territory since World Warfare Two.

The assault comes after US President Donald Trump spoke to each Mr Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, urging them to restart ceasefire talks.

However German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius mentioned on Wednesday that Mr Trump misjudged his affect on Mr Putin after the decision between the American and Russian leaders yielded no progress in Ukraine peace talks.

Europe has since introduced new sanctions on Russia over the battle in Ukraine. Mr Pistorius mentioned it remained to be seen whether or not the US would be part of these measures.
