Rep. Elissa Slotkin feedback on Trump’s cupboard picks

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — As Trump’s transition continues, an incoming U.S. senator from Michigan gave her opinions on Trump’s cupboard nominations. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-7) visited Lansing Neighborhood School this Friday afternoon to assist unveil their new healthcare car. 

Whereas visiting, she voiced her opinion on Trump’s cupboard picks, resembling Pete Hegseth for Protection Secretary and Kash Patel for FBI Director.

Slotkin says she’s going to make varied necessary choices. 

“So, I’m going to take it seriously,” mentioned Slotkin. “Ask loads of probing questions, and I am positive there will probably be some I will vote sure for and there will probably be some I most likely will not vote for.” 

Slotkin says each president has an opportunity to select their very own cupboard members. 

“I have a new responsibility to ask a lot of questions and vote yes or no on all these nominees right, and every president has a right to decide who they want to nominate,” says Slotkin.

As a former CIA officer, and Pentagon official, Slotkin says she desires to make the suitable selection. 

“They require someone of competence and character,” said Slotkin. “and it’s not about who gets what job. It’s about keeping American citizens safe.”

The safety of Americans is what Slotkin desires the nominees to concentrate on whereas working beneath the brand new incoming Presidency. 

“And if you have the wrong person in these very important security jobs,” said Slotkin. “You’re at risk at, literally something to American citizens either at home or abroad.” 

She says the one factor that issues is their character and functionality to serve the American individuals.
