Silver Bells within the Metropolis introduced St. Johns native and paralympic medalist as Grand Marshal

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– Jayci Simon, 19, was named Silver Bells within the Metropolis Grand Marshal for this 12 months’s Electrical Mild Parade.

She can be joined by associate Miles Krajewski of Yankton, South Dakota. Simon and Krajewski turned the primary People to medal in Paralympic badminton on the Summer time Video games in Paris this 12 months.

Simon is a St. Johns native. She was born with acromicric dysplasia, a uncommon genetic dysfunction that causes quick stature resulting in dwarfism. Simon stands at 3ft and 9 3/4 inches tall.

She was featured within the St. Johns Excessive College homecoming parade and was welcomed with a parade and a ceremony at Lansing Group School on Oct. 28.

Simon mentioned in a information launch that she has at all times been athletic and was launched to badminton on the age of 11 years outdated at a Little Individuals of America sports activities camp.

Silver Bells within the Metropolis is celebrating its fortieth anniversary on Friday, Nov. 22 with singer/ songwriter David Archuleta.

The celebration will embrace a drone and fireworks present together with lighting the state’s Christmas tree.
