A Strictly Come Dancing star has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
The unnamed man, who’s in his 30s, was additionally detained over a separate allegation of “non-consensual intimate image abuse”.
The Met Police stated an arrest was made in east London on Friday in a joint investigation with Hertfordshire Constabulary, following a “third-party allegation of sexual and drug-related offences”.
It’s understood the arrest shouldn’t be associated to the upcoming manufacturing of Strictly Come Dancing – the twenty third collection, which is within the rehearsal stage and is because of launch in September.
“On Friday 22 August, officers arrested a man in his 30s in east London on suspicion of rape and non-consensual intimate image abuse,” a spokesperson for the Met stated in a press release.
The investigation is in its early phases and inquiries are ongoing, the spokesperson added.
Hertfordshire Constabulary didn’t add something additional.
A spokesperson for the BBC stated: “It would not be appropriate to comment on an ongoing police investigation.”
Earlier this month, it was reported the broadcaster had known as in legal professionals to analyze following claims two of its stars had used cocaine.
