Sword-wielding man arrested in Spring Arbor Township

Sword-wielding man arrested in Spring Arbor Township

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Residents in Spring Arbor Township confronted a sword-wielding neighbor Wednesday night.

Police within the township despatched out a information launch Thursday afternoon with an image of the sword seized by officers through the incident. Officers say officers responded to a name within the 7000 block of S. Circle Dr. shortly after 5 p.m. Dispatchers knowledgeable responding officers a person was wielding a “28-inch sword.” When officers arrived on scene the 37-year-old man was standing on the entrance porch of his dwelling, officers reported within the information launch. He didn’t adjust to directives from native, county and state legislation enforcement officers, and retreated into his dwelling, officers stated.

Whereas he was in his dwelling, officers sought and obtained a search warrant to enter the person’s dwelling and place him beneath arrest.

Throughout an investigation, officers discovered the person had allegedly “smashed out all the windows to his neighbor’s residence.” After the assault on the house, the person with the sword approached his neighbor, the home-owner, and ordered him to the bottom. The person then “jabbed and poked” the home-owner within the chest with the sword, officers stated.

Officers indicated costs the person might face embody assault with a harmful weapon and felonious assault.
