
The Stone Roses bassist Gary “Mani” Mounfield has died on the age of 63, his household has mentioned.
Mani’s brother, Greg, mentioned in a put up on Fb: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother.”
“RIP RKID,” he added.
Mr Mounfield joined the Manchester band in 1987 and performed on each their albums, remaining with the group till their break up in 1996.
He subsequently joined Primal Scream, and performed with the Scottish outfit till 2011, when he left to rejoin the reuniting Roses.
His passing comes two years after the dying of his spouse, Imelda Mounfield, who was recognized with stage 4 bowel most cancers in November 2020.
The couple had twin boys, born in 2012.
The Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown has shared a tribute on-line, writing on X: “REST IN PEACE MANi X.”
On the identical platform, Rowetta of the Glad Mondays posted: “Again together with your Imelda, Mani. Going to overlook you a lot.
“All my love to the boys, the family & all those who knew & loved him.”
