US singer Chris Brown charged with GBH over alleged assault in London

US singer Chris Brown has been charged with grievous bodily hurt with intent in reference to a 2023 incident in London.

He stays in custody and is because of seem at Manchester Magistrates’ Court docket at 10am this morning, police mentioned.

The cost pertains to an assault which reportedly befell at a venue in Hanover Sq. in Mayfair on Sunday 19 February 2023.

The 36-year-old was arrested at a lodge in Manchester within the early hours of Thursday by detectives from the Metropolitan Police.

The Solar has reported that the R&B singer flew into Manchester Airport on a personal jet on Wednesday afternoon.

Adele Kelly, the deputy chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, mentioned: “We have authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Chris Brown with one count of grievous bodily harm, contrary to section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

“The alleged incident occurred in London on 19 February 2023.

“He will have his first court appearance on Friday 16 May at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all involved that prison proceedings in opposition to this defendant are lively and that he has the proper to a good trial.

“It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

The Go Loopy singer is about to tour the UK in June and July, with dates at Co-Op Dwell in Manchester and Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

His representatives have been contacted for remark.
