The loss of life of journalist and creator Hunter S Thompson might be reviewed by Colorado officers on the request of his widow, the state’s bureau of investigation has introduced.
Thompson, greatest identified for his 1971 novel Worry And Loathing In Las Vegas, died aged 67 on 20 February 2005.
The unique investigation concluded the loss of life was from an allegedly self-inflicted gunshot wound and was suicide.
In an announcement on Tuesday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) mentioned Anita Thompson had requested a case assessment into her husband’s loss of life, and that it’s being carried out to supply an impartial perspective on the investigation.
Whereas Sheriff Michael Buglione mentioned there isn’t any new proof suggesting foul play, “we understand the profound impact Hunter S Thompson had on this community and beyond”.
He added: “By bringing in an outside agency for a fresh look, we hope to provide a definitive and transparent review that may offer peace of mind to his family and the public.”
The CBI added its assessment would take “an unspecified amount of time”.
